The much-awaited period action adventure film Captain Miller, starring Dhanush in the lead role, has been postponed to Pongal 2024.
Captain Miller is one of the most anticipated films of Dhanush, who has a huge fan following across the country. The film’s announcement video, which was released in July 2022, received a massive response from the audience and created a lot of buzz on social media.

Captain Miller is directed by Arun Matheswaran, who is known for his critically acclaimed films Rocky and Saani Kaayidham. The film is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, which has delivered several blockbuster hits in the past. The film also features an ensemble cast of Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken, and Edward Sonnenblick.
The film is set in the 1930s-40s and revolves around the life of Captain Miller, a rebel leader who fought against the British colonial rule in India. Dhanush plays the dual role of Captain Miller and his grandson Eesa, who is a modern-day adventurer. The film promises to be a thrilling and entertaining ride with high-octane action sequences, stunning visuals, and a gripping storyline.
The film’s music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, who has collaborated with Dhanush for several hit songs in the past. Captain Miller’s poster with new release date out
The film, which was earlier slated to release on December 15, 2023, will now hit the screens in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages during the festive season. As of now, no particular reason has been given for the sudden change of plans in Captain Miller‘s release, but fans can expect the team to deliver a power-packed theatrical entertainer once the post-production works are completed.
The team wrote in their latest announcement, “Our #CAPTAINMILLER is all set for a grand Release this PONGAL / SANKRANTI 2024 #CaptainMillerFromPongal #CaptainMillerFromSankranti” (sic).
Captain Miller will be a major film to release in Hindi for Pongal 2024, as no other Hindi film has been announced for the same week yet. The film will face competition from Sivakarthikeyan’s sci-fi film Ayalaan and Sundar C’s horror comedy Aranmanai 4, which are also scheduled to release for Pongal 2024.
