Vicky Kaushal And Amar Kaushik Quit Non Veg And Alcohol For Mahavatar: Spiritual Prep Begins For Lord Parashurama Epic

What does it take to play a divine character on screen? For Vicky Kaushal and director Amar Kaushik, it means complete transformation, both physically and spiritually. The duo has decided to quit non veg food and alcohol as part of their preparation for Mahavatar, the epic film based on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama.

After the historic success of Chhaava, Dinesh Vijan is collaborating with Vicky Kaushal again on another timeless epic. Titled Mahavatar, the film will be directed by Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik, and insiders reveal that Maddock Films is planning to mount it on an unimaginable scale. The writing work for this epic is going on in full swing.

Complete Focus And Dedication

A film like Mahavatar requires complete focus, and the duo have decided to give it all to make it a pure spectacle for the cinema going audience. They have decided to quit non veg food, and will start their prep for the film with a grand pooja ceremony towards the middle of next year. This level of commitment shows how seriously both the actor and director are taking this project.

Amar Kaushik is presently working on the pre visualization of Mahavatar, whereas Vicky Kaushal is focusing on completing Love And War, which at the moment is running behind schedule. While Amar has already given up on the food habits, Vicky has decided to do so once the shoot for Love And War is wrapped up. It is his way of showing respect to the part of Lord Parashurama.

A Massive Production Timeline

The scale of Mahavatar is evident from its production timeline. The film will go on floors towards the end of 2026 and release in 2028. It needs one year of production, followed by a six month post production period, as it involves lots of VFX work in building the world. This extended timeline reflects the ambition and scope that Maddock Films has for this project.

The Spiritual Journey

The decision to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle and abstain from alcohol is not just about physical preparation. For both Vicky and Amar, it represents a spiritual journey that will help them connect deeply with the character and story of Lord Parashurama.
