Following the success of Luka Chuppi and Mimi, filmmaker Laxman Utekar is teaming up with Dinesh Vijan once more. And for their upcoming romantic comedy, the director-producer team has enlisted Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan to play the major roles. Now, the latest reports by Peepingmoon reveal that the untitled film is a small-town drama with a powerful social message. It’s thought to be set in the same universe as his first film, Luka Chuppi (2019), which had a comedic take on the live-in relationship.
According to sources, Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan will play a married couple in this film. It portrays the narrative of a young couple that longs for their own home apart from their extended family. The plot revolves around how they use the Indian government’s flagship programme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), to get their own home. The film is expected to be a full-fledged family entertainer with an ensemble cast, similar to Utekar’s previous films. PMAY serves as the setting for this Maddock Films production, which conveys a vital message in a lighthearted manner.
Laxman Utekar has already begun pre-production and will shortly hold a dialect reading session with the cast to familiarise them with the setting. The film will begin production on November 15 and will be shot in Ujjain and Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on a nonstop schedule.
