After playing a scientist in ‘Mission Mangal’, a genius mathematician in ‘Shakuntala Devi’, and an Indian Forest Service officer in ‘Sherni’ Vidya Balan is all set to come up on the screen as a TV news anchor in Suresh Triveni’s upcoming film ‘Jalsa’.

Apart from Vidya, Shefali Shah will be also playing a lead character of a maid in the film. The film also stars Rohini Hattangadi, Iqbal Khan, Surya Kasibhatla, Vidharti Bandi, and Gurpal Singh in pivotal roles along with Manav Kaul making a special appearance.

Suresh Triveni’s directorial film is scheduled to be released in the First Quarter of 2022. Written by Suresh Triveni along with Prajwal Chandrashekar and Produced by Vikram Malhotra and Bhushan Kumar, ‘Jalsa’ is based on the topic of caste and socio-economic differences.
