Since the Coronavirus outbreak in India and the lockdown was imposed, many businesses were financially affected. While almost all businesses including the entertainment industry have started to resume, the government has yet not allowed cinema halls to reopen.
Now this financial burden has forced an employee of Prasad’s IMAX (Multiplex Theater) to end his life in Khairatabad of Hyderabad.
As per the reports Vijaya Bhasker Rao was found dead at his home.
According to the police 55 year old Vijaya Bhaskar was working as a movie operator at Prasad’s Imax.
Since the lockdown was imposed the theatre’s managements were paying half salary to the employees. The family says, the employer informed the deceased that his salary will be trimmed by 50% from the coming months.
He could not bear the pressure and took this extreme step.
This is not the first incident: salary cuts, loss of job, no recruitment has led to adding stress to several families and may have taken their lives.
