With just days left for the theatrical release of O’Romeo, the Vishal Bhardwaj directorial backed by Sajid Nadiadwala has rapidly climbed the list of the most talked about upcoming Bollywood films.

Led by Shahid Kapoor and featuring Triptii Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, Disha Patani, and Tamannaah Bhatia, the film also includes a special appearance by Vikrant Massey. Now, a behind the scenes revelation by Bhardwaj has added a fresh layer of intrigue to the project.

Vishal Bhardwaj On Vikrant Massey Joining O’Romeo For Free

In an official statement shared by the filmmaker, Vishal Bhardwaj revealed that Vikrant Massey did not charge any fee for his special appearance in O’Romeo. The director explained that Massey had committed to the project years ago, much before his recent career high.

Bhardwaj said Vikrant honoured that promise even after achieving major recognition. He also quoted the actor’s personal connection to Bhardwaj’s cinema: “Watching Maqbool inspired him to enter the film industry and changed his life forever.”

As per Bhardwaj, Massey shot for nearly 8 to 9 days for the film, and his part is designed to add significant weight to the narrative.

Tamannaah Bhatia’s No Fee Decision And Why It Matters To The Plot

Bhardwaj also stated that Tamannaah Bhatia agreed to be part of O’Romeo without charging “a single penny.” According to the director, the decision came in the context of budget constraints, but Tamannaah immediately said yes when approached.

While her role is described as brief, Bhardwaj confirmed it plays a crucial role in unveiling a major plot twist. He further revealed that Tamannaah shot for nearly 12 days, which was more than initially planned, and also took part in workshops and rehearsals to prep for the character.
