Shah Rukh Khan started 2023 with a bang with the release of Pathaan. The action thriller marked his return to acting after more than four years and it turned out to be an event. Now, Shah Rukh has two more films lined up for release, Jawan and Dunki. Both films are highly anticipated and are from different genres. But, there is a new development regarding Jawan.
Warner Bros.’s upcoming horror film, The Nun II, will be clashing with Jawan at the ticket window. It was supposed to release on 2 June but now the release date has been postponed to 8 September and both the films will fight for the audiences’ attention in the theatres. This is not the first time Hollywood and Bollywood have come at loggerheads. Earlier this year on 21 April, WB’s Evil Dead Rise clashed with Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Despite facing a major film, Evil Dead Rise minted 36.50 crores at the box office in India.
The Nun II will release in India in not just English but in dubbed Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil versions as well. There is a lot of buzz around the film as its predecessor, The Nun, had earned 46.46 crores in India.
About These Films
The Nun II is directed by Michael Chaves and is a part of the popular Conjuring universe. The franchise is extremely popular with horror fans across the globe. Jawan, on the other hand, is directed by Atlee Kumar (in his Bollywood directorial debut). The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Sanya Malhotra in major roles.
