‘We Would Like To Make A Sequel, 100 per cent,’ Says Bhediya Writer Niren Bhatt

"We would like to make a sequel, 100 per cent. In fact, we have deliberately kept several threads open," writer said.

Producer Dinesh Vijan has frequently mentioned how he is creating his own imaginary world of comedic horror movies that are funny while addressing various subjects. The newest step in that direction is the Varun Dhawan-led film Bhediya. Although the movie only had a modest amount of box office success, it has been commended for its emphasis on environmental protection. So, will the werewolf comedy have a sequel? The second instalment of the film, which also stars Kriti Sanon and Abhishek Banerjee, is in production, according to writer Niren Bhatt.

“We would like to make a sequel, 100 per cent. In fact, we have deliberately kept several threads open,” writer said. Bhatt continues by saying that he and filmmaker Amar Kaushik purposefully created Bhediya to be “the origin story of the superhero.” The protagonist of the monster comedy is Dhawan’s Bhaskar, who transforms into a shape-shifting beast after being assaulted by a werewolf in Arunachal Pradesh.

Rajkummar Rao and Aparshakti Khurana’s characters from Stree (2018) are introduced at the movie’s climax, and Bhatt acknowledges that there will be a crossover. “[The story of Bhediya] has a connection with Stree, as we have
already seen. We are trying to merge both the films, and make this into a universe [of horror comedies].”

When discussing the movie “Bhediya,” the events in the mid-credits scene both allude to the upcoming Stree sequel and demonstrate a clear relationship to Bhediya. Notable actors who have already returned to their roles in the franchise include Rajkumar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, and Shraddha Kapoor, who made an appearance in a dancing cameo.
