Karan Johar was left stunned after being honoured with a special achievement award at IIFA 2024, celebrating his 25 years in the Indian film industry.
The prestigious event took place on September 28 at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, with Johar’s close friend Shah Rukh Khan presenting the award.

In a viral video making the rounds on social media, co-host Vicky Kaushal made the announcement, saying, “Today, IIFA honours Karan Johar for completing 25 years in the Indian film industry and creating a legacy for the ages.”
Shah Rukh, who also hosted the event, called Johar his “brother, friend, and partner in both good and bad times,” before asking the audience for a roaring applause.
Karan’s reaction was priceless. In disbelief, he repeatedly exclaimed, “What? What?” as he walked onto the stage to receive the honour. After hugging Vicky Kaushal, Karan touched SRK’s feet in a heartfelt moment of respect and accepted the award with gratitude.

Karan Johar Dances To Jhoome Jo Pathaan With Superstar Shah Rukh Khan
The night was filled with more fun as Johar joined Shah Rukh and Vicky on stage to perform to Jhoome Jo Pathaan, a moment Karan later shared on his Instagram. His caption read, “Trying to match our steps with the Pathaan!!!! What an absolutely wonderful night at @iifa!”
The three-day IIFA celebration kicked off on September 27, 2024, with IIFA Utsavam, which honoured the southern film industries, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films.
Karan Johar made his directorial debut in 1998 with the iconic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji. Since then, he has gone on to direct multiple Bollywood blockbusters like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and more recently, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
