At the 2024 IIFA Awards, Bollywood’s King Shah Rukh Khan made a grand return as host after more than a decade. The night was filled with unforgettable moments for fans, especially during a hilarious rapid-fire segment with co-host Karan Johar.
The Jawan star, known for his wit and charm, once again reminded everyone why he’s earned the title of the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’.

During the segment, Karan asked the million-dollar question: who will be the “next King of Romance” after Shah Rukh? Without missing a beat, SRK gave a classic response: “Actually, romance will also retire along with me.”
The crowd erupted in cheers, and even fellow stars like Rani Mukerji, Ananya Panday, and Anil Kapoor couldn’t hold back their excitement, joining in with applause and laughter.

Shah Rukh’s humour didn’t stop there. When asked why he doesn’t live in an apartment, the superstar cheekily replied, “Kyuki mere upar koi ho he nahi sakta. I am the ceiling over everyone’s heads.”
Superstar’s Advise To The New Generation Of Actors
In another light-hearted moment, when Karan asked him for advice to give the new generation of actors, Shah Rukh quipped, “Acting,” leaving everyone in stitches.
He also joked about his past flop films, sharing that during his career slump, he developed a passion for cooking. But now that he’s back at the top of the game, SRK teased that maybe his “competitors” should give cooking a try.

The night also saw Shah Rukh win the Best Actor award for Jawan, which was not just a fan favourite but also became the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. Released in September 2023, Jawan crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark, making SRK the only Indian actor to have two films—Pathaan and Jawan—each surpassing Rs 1000 crore in the same year.
Adding to the excitement, Shah Rukh lit up the stage with his electric performances on hit tracks like Jhoome Jo Pathaan, Chaleya, and Oo Antava.
He even shared the stage with Vicky Kaushal, delivering a performance that had fans buzzing online. Clips of the superstar’s performances have been circulating all over social media since the event, proving once again why SRK continues to reign supreme in Bollywood.
