Kangana Ranaut On Whether She Will QUIT Acting After Emergency
At the trailer launch of Emergency, Kangana addressed these concerns. “Whether I continue acting or not, I’d like people to decide that,” she stated. “I never declared myself as a leader; it was the people’s choice to support me in the elections. Similarly, if Emergency succeeds and people want more from me, and if I find success in acting, I’ll continue. If not, and if politics offers more opportunities, I will adapt accordingly. I’ll go where I am needed and valued.”
Actress’ Political Journey
Kangana’s political journey has been eventful. She secured the Mandi Lok Sabha seat with a significant margin of 74,755 votes, defeating Congress rival Vikramaditya Singh.
However, her victory was marred by an incident at Chandigarh airport, where she was slapped by a CISF officer. Kangana quickly reassured her followers through a video, confirming her safety.
About Emergency
As for Emergency, the film is highly anticipated. Kangana stars as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in this political drama. The film’s release was postponed due to Kangana’s election campaign but is now set to hit theatres on September 6, 2024.
Directed by Kangana herself, Emergency features a strong cast, including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik. The film, produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, promises to offer a gripping portrayal of a pivotal period in Indian history.
