Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli Hailed As beautiful And Charming By Writer Divy Nidhi Sharma

After spending a year inside the bruised emotional world of Chiraiya, writer Divy Nidhi Sharma has stepped into very different territory with Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli. If Chiraiya left him traumatised by its emotional weight, this new film has arrived as the opposite kind of creative release, one he describes with unusual warmth and clarity.

That contrast is what makes Sharma’s words about Nayyi Navelli so striking. The writer, known for shaping emotionally layered stories, has called the film “beautiful” and “charming,” while stressing that a strong feminine streak runs through it. Coming right after the difficult writing journey of Chiraiya, his endorsement gives the Yami Gautam starrer an especially compelling early note.

Divy Nidhi Sharma Calls Nayyi Navelli Beautiful And Charming

Speaking about the film, Sharma said, “Nayyi Navelli is a very beautiful, charming film. It is in the mythology and horror space. But I would like to use the words beautiful and charming.” He added, “The film also has a very strong feminine streak running through it.”

His description gives the film an unusual edge in a space where mythology and horror titles are often introduced through fear, chaos, or comedy. Sharma choosing softness and beauty as the headline emotion hints at a more tonally distinct film, one that may lean as much on mood and character as it does on genre play.

Mythology, Horror, And A Feminine Core Define The Film

That sense of creative lightness now feeds directly into the film’s rollout. Nayyi Navelli went on floors in April 2026, with verified project details linking the film to Colour Yellow Productions and Yami Gautam in the lead.

The film has been described as a mythology-horror comedy and is being mounted as a theatrical feature, with Amazon Prime Video attached for its post-theatrical streaming run. While the makers have kept plot specifics under wraps, Sharma’s remarks have already set the tone for how the film wants to be seen.

Why Nayyi Navelli Fits Yami Gautam’s Current Screen Streak

The update also lands at a time when Yami Gautam has built a strong run of films around control, intensity, and presence. In Article 370, released in March 2024, she anchored a politically charged thriller as intelligence officer Zooni Haksar and held the film with a steely, front-foot performance that dominated the conversation around it.

Before that, she appeared in OMG 2 in 2023 alongside Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi, and in Lost in 2023, which premiered on ZEE5. Those projects, though very different in tone, kept reinforcing her preference for roles that are not decorative and rarely passive.

That is what makes Nayyi Navelli an especially interesting move. Instead of repeating the hard-edged intensity of her recent work, it places her inside a genre film that appears to value atmosphere, mythology, and a female-led emotional pull. For an actor who has increasingly chosen parts with agency and narrative weight, this feels less like a detour and more like a clever pivot.
