After a hiatus of approximately 20 months since his last appearance on the big screen in his blockbuster film KGF: Chapter 2, Kannada actor Rocking Star Yash is all set to announce the title of his next film, currently titled Yash 19, on 8 December 2023. The film will be made in collaboration with KVN Productions, which is a distribution and production company.
The actor made the announcement himself this morning.
National award winner, Geethu Mohandas likely to helm Yash 19
KVN Productions will back this highly awaited project, and if reports are to be believed then National Award winning director Geethu Mohandas will take the directorial reins.
There are reports that Yash and Geethu Mohandas have been discussing a probable collaboration for the last year. “Yash was bowled over by the concept that Geethu came up to him with. When everyone was expecting Yash to collaborate with some of the biggest names from Indian Cinema, the Rocking Star is set to spring in a surprise by choosing a credible script with a respected name in Malayalam cinema,” Pinkvilla quoted few months back.
Geethu is known for films like Liar’s Dice and The Elder One and has won 2 National Awards. On the other hand, KGF 3 is also under-making. The third installment will be featuring the tale of Rocky Bhai between 1978 and 1981. The film is in the script stage and is likely to kick off in 2025.

Yash, who made his debut in 2007 with Jambada Hudugi, rose to fame with his performance in Moggina Manasu, for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. He then went on to star in several successful films, such as Rocky, Googly, Raja Huli, Gajakesari, Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari, Masterpiece, and Santhu Straight Forward. He achieved nationwide recognition with his role as Rocky Bhai in KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2, which are the highest-grossing Kannada films of all time. KGF: Chapter 2, which released on 14 April 2022, collected over Rs 1100 crore worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian film ever. Yash has won three Filmfare Awards South and two SIIMA Awards for his acting. He is also involved in various social and philanthropic causes through his Yasho Marga Foundation. He is married to actress Radhika Pandit, with whom he has two children.
