EXCLUSIVE: Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal Highest Grossing Film Globally At Box Office Over Weekend, 4th Indian And 2nd Hindi Film To Achieve This Landmark

Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal released in cinemas yesterday and anticipation for the film was all over. Film is 3 hours 21 minutes long and is releasing with ‘A’ certificate. Despite these shortcomings, amazing trailer and fantastic songs have done the trick.

Film has scored amazing numbers in advance bookings in India and overseas. Despite mixed reviews and expected polarised opinions, film has scored historic day one followed by fantastic weekend worldwide.

Animal Scores 2nd Highest Weekend Behind Jawan

Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal took earth shattering start at box office. Film is performing outstandingly well all over in India and overseas. Film crossed 24.40 cr nett in national chains on day one. It crossed 54.75 cr nett Hindi on day one. Film added 9.05 cr nett in Tamil & Telugu with all india all language number of 63.80 cr nett. Film remained 3rd behind Shah Rukh Khan starrers Jawan and Pathaan in terms day one number in India in Hindi language.

Film collected 116 cr worldwide gross on day one which is only 2nd to SRK’s Jawan day 1 worldwide gross of 129.60 cr. 

On day two, film took blistering start and certain to jump by 20-25% if this pace continues. Film collected 58.37 cr nett day two in Hindi and all India 67.27 cr nett including Tamil & Telugu. Film collected 120 cr worldwide gross with close to $10 million overseas number. 

Film crossed 63.46 cr nett Hindi and 70.69 cr nett all languages on Sunday. Film crossed 176.58 cr nett Hindi and 201.76 cr nett all languages all India number. Film registered 356 cr worldwide gross over weekend.

Film remained second to Jawan in India, overseas and worldwide.

Animal Becomes Highest Grossing Film Worldwide Over Weekend

Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal achieved milestone in opening weekend as it became highest grossing film worldwide. This is 2nd Hindi film after Brahmastra and 4th Indian film to do so.

Top films globally this weekend (1st – 3rd December):

1. Animal: $42.1 million

2. Napoleon: $35.7 million

3. Hunger Games: $29.4 million

4. Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce: $27.4 million

5. Wish: $26.2 million

Only Four Indian Films so far have topped in debut on worldwide charts. Following are the films with opening weekend global gross.

1. RRR $63.20 million
2. Animal $42.17 million
3. Brahmastra $23.9 million
4. Master $20 million

Just a couple of days back, the makers released the film’s song Arjan Vailly which has received immense love from the audience. Apart from that, the songs, Hua MainSatranga, and Papa Meri Jaan have also received rave reviews. Backed by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Murad Khetani, and Krishan Kumar.

Notably, the film will also face a clash with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur, directed by Meghna Gulzar.
