Actor Yash is keeping busy with back-to-back projects, but fans eager to see him as Ravana will have to wait. Despite rumours, he has not started shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana yet.
Right now, he is focused on completing Toxic, an action thriller being filmed in Bengaluru.
Yash To Shoot Ramayana After Completing Toxic
A source close to him confirmed, “Yash is currently in Bengaluru and will prioritise completing the Toxic shoot before commencing work on Ramayana. As co-producer of both films, he plans to dedicate his full attention to each project sequentially.”
Yash is in no rush to enter the Ramayana universe. The source added, “His current focus is solely on Toxic, ensuring its shoot completion before transitioning to the grand world of Ramayana. He should start shooting for Ramayana in the coming months.”
After the massive success of KGF, Yash has been selective about his projects. Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, features a star-studded cast, including Kiara Advani, Darrel D’Silva, Nayanthara, Akshay Oberoi, and Tovino Thomas.
The film is expected to be released later this year. Meanwhile, Ramayana is shaping up to be a grand spectacle, with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Lara Dutta, and Sunny Deol joining Yash. The first part of this two-part film is set to release on November 6, 2026, coinciding with Diwali.
Here’s The Reason Behind His Decision
Yash’s decision to focus on one project at a time is a creative choice. Since Ramayana requires a deep transformation for his role as Ravana, he never considered juggling both films. “Once you get into the skin of this iconic character, you can’t really focus your energies on something else at the same time,” the insider revealed. “Yash knows that and has, therefore, decided to finish one before starting the next.”
Additionally, Yash recently teased fans with a ‘Birthday Peek’ from Toxic, increasing excitement for his action-packed role. Meanwhile, expectations are sky-high for his take on Ravana, which is set to be one of the most powerful performances of his career.
