Days after the film’s release, another YouTuber has alleged that he received a legal notice over his review, pushing the Geetu Mohandas directorial into a messy debate around online film criticism and legal intimidation.
Another Youtuber Alleges Notice Over Toxic Review
The latest flashpoint came from Prashanth Rangaswamy, who is known on X by the handle @itiprashanth. He publicly claimed that he too had been sent a legal notice over his review of Toxic. In his post, Prashanth wrote, “Got legal notice from @TheNameIsYash and @KvnProductions for #Toxic review. I thought he is all macho in real life as well. Looks like he is just another rich and influential person!”
His claim surfaced after another YouTuber, Suraj Kumar, shared a screenshot of a notice he said he had received over his Toxic review. The notice was issued by Bengaluru-based Aiplex Software Private Limited on behalf of KVN-Monster Mind Creations LLP, which is identified as the producer and copyright owner of the film.
Legal Action Follows Court Order
The controversy appears to stem from legal steps taken before the film’s release. The makers had moved a Bengaluru court and secured a temporary interim order against the circulation of false or defamatory content related to Toxic. After the film opened in theatres, the focus quickly shifted from the courtroom order to how that action was being experienced by reviewers and influencers online.
That has now turned Toxic into one of those rare releases where the off-screen conversation is threatening to overtake the film’s critical discourse. The larger argument is no longer just about one review video, but about where a production house draws the line between defamation and negative opinion.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups stars Yash in dual roles. The film also features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. It is backed by Venkat K Narayana and Yash through KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations.
