Since the theatres in the state are allowed to function with 50% capacity, filmmakers and exhibitors take a breath of relief. Well, now some production houses are contemplating their digital slate for theatrical release. According to the reports, Yash Raj Films is eying on the Christmas 2020 schedule to release its ambitious project Bunty Aur Babli 2.
Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a sequel to 2005 released Bunty and Babli staring
Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. While the sequel stars Rani Mukerji alongside Saif Ali Khan. the film also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh.
If we go by the reports then YRF is planning to return to theatres to release the film. Since the makers of Ranveer Singh’s ’83 vacated the spot recently and announced a 2021 push. Bunty Aur Babli 2 makers didn’t want to miss the opportunity, hence they are planning to release the film on Christmas 2020.
However, the talks are in the initial stage and everything goes as planned then the official announcement is will be made soon.
A source was quoted as saying, “With theatres expected to be up and running, filmmakers have begun zeroing in on release windows for their movies. Considering Bunty Aur Babli 2 is a light-hearted con caper, the makers feel it would be an ideal festival outing. The Christmas window is empty after the team of Ranveer Singh’s 83 decided to push its release to 2021. However, the talks are at a nascent stage. They will arrive at a decision in the coming weeks.”
