Ram Charan’s Game Changer Struggles With USD 60K In USA Advance Bookings, Much Lesser Than Jr NTR’s Devara

Game Changer has struggled with slow advance ticket sales in the US, earning only USD 60K so far, lagging behind other recent Tollywood films.

Ram Charan’s Game Changer has generated excitement, but early ticket sales in the United States are not as strong as expected. The political action thriller, directed by S Shankar, will release on January 10, 2025, and has so far sold USD 60K in advance bookings for its US premiere. This is a much lower figure than other Tollywood films released post-pandemic.

Game Changer Starts Very Slow With Just USD 60K In US Advance Bookings So Far

For comparison, Devara: Part 1, starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, sold tickets worth USD 150K in the same period, despite having fewer screens. Other big films like Salaar, Pushpa 2, and Kalki 2898 AD also surpassed Game Changer in advance ticket sales, raising some concerns within the industry.

If sales continue at this pace, experts predict Game Changer may struggle to reach USD 1 million in advance bookings. However, there is hope that Ram Charan’s promotional efforts in the US will give the film a much-needed boost.

He is scheduled to attend a pre-release event in Texas this month and promote the film further in January, which could help increase ticket sales.

About The Film

Game Changer is a significant project for both Ram Charan and S Shankar. This film features the actor in dual roles alongside Kiara Advani, Prakash Raj, and others.

Fans are excited to see him back on screen after his role in the global hit RRR, which earned over Rs 1,200 crore. Since then, he has only appeared in a supporting role in Acharya.

S Shankar, known for his grand film style, is hoping Game Changer will bring him back into the spotlight. His last film, Indian 2, was a box-office disappointment, grossing only Rs 150 crore. Before that, 2.0 had moderate success, though it also didn’t meet expectations.

In addition to its slow start in ticket sales, Game Changer has attracted attention due to its distribution rights. Anil Thadani, a well-known distributor, has acquired the North Indian rights for Rs 75 crore. The deal may be renegotiated based on the film’s performance.

With its release just around the corner, it remains to be seen whether Game Changer will pick up momentum and meet the high expectations placed on it.
