V Vijayendra Prasad, the renowned screenwriter, and father of SS Rajamouli, shared exciting news about a potential sequel to the immensely successful film RRR, released in 2022. Speaking on the 20th anniversary of Rajamouli’s film Simhadri, Vijayendra revealed that the sequel would be produced as a Hollywood project. He further mentioned that a talented Hollywood director is expected to take the lead, with the supervision and guidance of Rajamouli, the director of the original RRR film.
Additionally, Prasad disclosed that Rajamouli’s upcoming collaboration with Mahesh Babu would surpass RRR in terms of action and magnitude. The untitled film, described as a thrilling global action adventure, is set to commence shooting in December. The project promises to elevate the level of excitement and grandeur beyond what was witnessed in RRR.
Moreover, Vijayendra Prasad unveiled that SS Rajamouli’s forthcoming venture, following the Mahesh Babu film, would be an adaptation of the epic Indian tale, Mahabharata. However, he refrained from providing any specific information regarding the project. Rajamouli has previously expressed his keenness to work on a film based on the Mahabharata, showcasing his interest in bringing this legendary saga to the big screen.
Prasad shared that SS Rajamouli will be starting a production company, and his son SS Karthikeya will be in charge of managing it. This means that Rajamouli wants to enter the field of film production, and he has entrusted his son with the task of running the company.
