After the debacle of Radhe Shyam at the Indian box office, there is undoubtedly a sense of worry among the producers and directors of Prabhas starrer Salaar in Andhra Pradesh. Radhe Shyam, billed as Baahubali’s first unadulterated love story, bombed not only in the Hindi belt but also in Prabhas’ home states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, sending shockwaves across the distribution industry.
Prabhas’ next film Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel, the Kannada director of the cult smash KGF, is the most directly impacted project. Salaar has reportedly gone back to the drawing board for some substantial script revisions, according to sources in Hyderabad. There will be some reshoots. Salaar is undergoing a pre-release overhaul, thus some will be cut out.
The informed source reveals, “Prabhas cannot afford any risks at this sensitive juncture of his career. He now knows his fans want him doing action. Salaar is being modified accordingly.”
