HOUSEFULL 4 Movie Review: Bada Bomb, Chota Dhamaaka

Movie Review:

The ‘tend to be confusing’ story of Housefull 4 starring half a dozen of Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbabanda and Pooja Hegde sometimes gets too confusing to even understand what’s happening. It revolves around the backdrop of reincarnation and the plot more or less revealed to in the trailer itself. It’s about how Harry (Akshay Kumar) hallucinates about his previous birth in which he was Bala, an emperor. His story aligns with his friends Roy (Riteish Deshmukh) who was Bangdu Maharaj and Max (Bobby Deol) who was Dharamputra in the previous birth. He sees how the girls they’re with now aren’t their real partners and everything is mismatched. In the quest of getting the partners right, every one of them invite many unwanted troubles.

Writing:
When you watch a movie you keep all your senses open. You see all the scenes, hear every bot of the movie and enjoy it. But when you watch this movie, you feel like the writer has just written a novel and left it for you to understand on your own. Many sequences are unconvincing and will leave you getting bored.

Direction:
Farhad Samji’s direction got us nothing out of the box. Also, when the script of the movie is so weak, you don’t literally expect much from the direction as well.

Music:
The only song that catches your attention is ‘Bala’. That too because it has got some catchy music and lyrics. all other songs feel like a punishment in the movie.

Technical Departments:
The dialogues of the movie are weak. They’re too plain and ordinary for a big budget movie like this one. The locations add to the visual appeal but that’s not the only aspect that’s useful. The duration of 145 minutes makes you feel like a lot of time in the theatre.

Performances:
With such a steller cast, the movie loses it’s charm even with their acting. Except for Riteish Deshmukh, all other actors are okay-ish at their parts. Pooja Hegde and Kriti Kharbanda irritates you much. Akshay Kumar, this time, isn’t giving you much too.

Verdict:

Overall, Housefull 4 seems like a Golden opportunity turned into Bronze.
