The film has a lot to say about male ambition and justifies the stance of Mr Mahi but says so little about Mrs Mahi, leaving her as a submissive character. The storyline of a couple overcoming personal and professional obstacles through cricket sometimes feels clichéd and lacks the freshness needed to captivate the audience.

Sharan Sharma’s direction is adept at times, balancing the sports drama with personal relationships. The screenplay, co-written by Nikhil Mehrotra, seems to focus only on the character of Rajkummar Rao, while Janhvi’s character, Mrs Mahi, appears to be left out.
The film’s cinematography is noteworthy. The cricket sequences are shot with precision, bringing the excitement of the game to life. The use of lighting and camera angles effectively captures the emotional journey of the characters, adding a visual richness to the storytelling.
The music and background score, while decent, do not leave a lasting impression. The film’s soundtrack complements the narrative, but only “Dekhha Tenu” stands out beyond the film.
