Munjya: Plot
The film follows Bittu (played by Abhay Verma), a young man visiting his small village, who becomes entangled with the supernatural entity Munjya, a notorious ghost from local legend.
Munjya is the spirit of a young Brahmin lad who was deeply smitten by Munni and died before his coming-of-age ceremony, leading to his restless existence. This spirit, based on Indian folklore, is on a quest to get married.
The film starts with Bittu (Abhay Verma), a bashful cosmetology aspirant, residing with his mother (Mona Singh) and grandmother. Bittu has feelings for Bella (Sharvari Wagh) but struggles to express them. Amidst a visit to his extended family in village, long-held secrets about the chetuk-baari and Munjya’s origins surface.
Munjya begins to get attached and haunt Bittu, seeking his help to find his lost love, Munni. Bela, becomes the new obsession of Munjya. The protagonist must protect himself and his love from Munjya’s clutches, leading to a mix of humorous and terrifying adventures.
