Bala, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pedenkar and Yami Gautam in the leading roles boasts of three songs. Two of them are recreated and the third one is original. Recreations are new in but will they work for the film? Or they’re just the fillers as recreated songs are. Let’s analyze the album to see what works & what doesn’t.
- Don’t Be Shy
A decade and a half later, Sachin-Jigar touches a song which was a classic back then. They have added Badshah’s in order to make it sound different but it doesn’t work. Song’s signature tune brings back a lot of memories but you can’t stay in or with them - Naah Goriye
Another song, another recreation but this time result is a bit different. Backed with some routine lyrics, the song manages to stand out. It’s Swasti Jain’s female vocals that have the quirky touch and hence end up being likable. - Pyaar Toh Tha
Jubin Nautiyal & Asees Kaur’s Pyaar Toh Tha is a routine romantic track laced with some ordinary lyrics by Priya Saraiya. Jubin’s textured voice and Sachin-Jigar’s music help it to get it through once but the shelf value for the same will be very low.
