Pinjar:


The movie beautifully highlights various issues about gender in India. From all the gender discrimination to considering a women’s virginity as a prestige of the family, the movie explores it all. Manoj Bajpayee aka Rashid kidnaps Puro (Urmila Matondkar) a young Hindu woman to take revenge on her family over some ancestral grudges. She manages to escape and save herself but her family refuses to take her and she is forced to return to Rashid again. Manoj Bajpayee’s character transformation in the movie is remarkable and he has played it so well.

1971:

The movie is set around a prisoner’s camp in Pakistan. It is a tale of six Indian prisoners who are waiting for their release after their capture in the 1971 indo-Pakistan war. Again, in this film, Manoj Bajpayee who has essayed the role of Major Suraj Singh along with his team they have done a commendable job. The movie has also won National Film award for the best feature film.

Gali Guleiyan:

Gali Guleiyan is about a shopkeeper who gets caught in the mind games of his own when he watches everyone through hidden closed-circuit cameras, until one fine day he comes to know the truth. Movie Gali Guleiyan is moved by one of the finest performances by Manoj Bajpayee. His character digs deep into the histrionic reserves and is deeply empathetic and a moving portrait of a man who is at odds with himself and the world around him.

Bhonsale:

The movie is about a retired Maharashtrian police officer who gets diagnosed with stage 4 cancer who is not ready to bow down to those who don’t accept other people from other casts, and he is helped by a north Indian girl and her brother. Bajpayee’s character in the movie is an admirable piece of art. And yes, Manoj Bajpayee is the biggest reason why you should watch Bhonsle.

The movie is a dark, intense thriller by director Rakesh Mehra. It is based on the fight between ‘Good’ and ‘Evil’. In the movie, Manoj Bajpayee essays the role of Raghavan who is a psycho killer who assassinated the defense minister and plans to assassinate the prime minister as well. The movie was much ahead of its time when it was released. The film is a whole different representation of supernatural thrillers with an interesting storyline.

Chittagong is a story about a boy named Jhunku who joins Surya Sen’s youth brigade against the British – will he be free?. The film has so much talent in one single frame: Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rajkummar Rao. The movie is a must-watch if you want to know about the importance of the revolution in our country. Beautiful portrayal of enthusiasm and passion of Indian rebels. The director of the movie has kept the plot very real and raw.
