Today Diwali releases set to lock horns at box office as Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn – Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thank God released with below par responses in advance bookings. But as expected films jumped today in spot bookings and managed very good day one.
Film should add couple of crores more to finish with 26 cr nett lifetime as new releases today will curtail its business.
Then, Rajamouli’s following film, RRR, broke all previous records and brought the entire world to a complete stop. The movie, which stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles, is a fictionalised portrayal of two valiant freedom fighters. In the movie’s extended cast are Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran.
Film has 5- day total of 17.58 cr nett plus and it should cross 20 cr nett in week one and then two big releases next week will curtail its run at max with 21 cr nett lifetime.
This weekend due to many new releases, film dropped further on 3rd Friday and collected 60 lacs nett. Film grew on Saturday and collected 90 lacs nett. With decent jump today it added 1.15 cr nett. Film collected 2.65 cr nett weekend and maximum 4.5 cr nett it will add this week.
This is good news for the film as big jumps in next two days can take it to some sort of respectability. Anything above 15 cr nett can be a good news.
But it bombed badly at Hindi box office today. Film released wide all over but despite opening film failed to register any growth. Probably releasing in dub version was disastrous decision.
