Ayushmann Khurrana is expected to start his training for Sourav Ganguly biopic from next month, as the shooting of the film is slated to begin in December.
Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly’s biopic is set to ho in floor at the end of 2023. Producers Ankur Garg and Luv Ranjan met with Ganguly at his home in Kolkata to discuss the film.
Cricketer Sourav Ganguly needs no introduction. Affectionately known as Dada, Ganguly served as the Indian Cricket Team captain and has scored a total of 16 centuries in his career. As a biopic on the cricketer’s inspirational journey has been in talks for a while, it was reported that Ranbir Kapoor might play the cricket legend. However, Ayushmann Khurrana’s name has come up for the lead role.
He is expected to travel to Kolkata, where he would meet the cricket legend Sourav at his home, the CAB office, Eden Garden prior to beginning of the shoot.
While it was previously believed that Karan Johar had acquired the rights to the film and planned to star Ranbir Kapoor in it, it is now Luv Ranjan who is actually directing it.
Sourav Ganguly, popularly known as Dada has undisputedly been one of the most successful and controversial cricket captains of India.
The biopic will follow Sourav Ganguly from his childhood till his election as president of the BCCI.
