Released globally on December 5, Pushpa 2 has now set a new standard for Indian cinema. It beat the previous record held by Baahubali 2 (Rs 200 crore) by an impressive 25%.
For seven years, Baahubali 2 was the highest-grossing film worldwide on its opening day, but now, Pushpa 2 has taken over.
While the film has secured the biggest Hindi opening, it might not surpass the overall opening day record of Jawan. Nevertheless, the huge numbers show the film’s massive fan following and increasing appeal.
The success of Pushpa 2 is also thanks to its star-studded cast. Allu Arjun returns as the iconic Pushpa Raj, with Rashmika Mandanna once again playing the female lead. Fahadh Faasil’s portrayal of the antagonist has been widely praised.
