With its initial teaser, Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 1 Or PS 1 delighted and perplexed the audience and has huge hype surrounding it. The historical drama, which will follow the rise and fall of the Chola kingdom, has Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, and Jayaram Ravi in significant parts.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set for a comeback with Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 (PS-1), slated to release worldwide on September 30 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
The film is sold to Marudhar Entertainment for a 7.50 cr price which means just 15 cr business will make it break even. That’s a perfect price and it should be hit for buyers as a clash with Vikram Vedha will give it hype and it should open not despite the clash in the Hindi market.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play the role of the queen Nandini in PS 1, also known as Ponniyin Selvan Part 1. In contrast, Vikram portrays the ferocious warrior Prince Aditya Karikalan, and Karthi plays the shadowy espionage role of Vanthiyathevan.
Along with them, the movie also stars Trisha, R. Parthiban, Sarath Kumar, Sobhita Dulipala, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, and Prabhu in a multi-star ensemble cast. The movie, which Mani Ratnam directed, is produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions.
