Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Bholaa’ is next biggie of Bollywood which is releasing on auspicious Ram Navami holiday and that’s why film is releasing a day prior on Thursday. Film has tremendous pre release buzz and anticipation.
As per trade, film is expected to open in vicinity of 15 cr nett plus and this number can go notch higher depending upon advances over the next few days. Film is massy action drama, remake of south film ‘Kaithi’, and second big action film of the year after historic Blockbuster of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’.
Ajay Devgn is also coming back after blockbuster success of ‘Drishyam 2’. Film has almost zero competition at box office which is big plus. Even with good to decent word of mouth, ‘Bholaa’ can do massive business in range of 150 cr nett plus.
Film’s advances started last weekend only for IMAX and 4D formats. Now full fledge advances started today in cinemas and almost every screen will be opened through course of today.
Film has already crossed 12,000 ticket sales for day one Thursday today itself. Film should be close to 12,500 ticket sales by tonight in national chains.
Film should easily be number 2 out of all Hindi films this year in terms of advances by Wednesday night only behind mammoth ‘Pathaan’. ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor sold 73k tickets and that figure should be surpassed big after today’s number that seems like a task though not impossible.
One has to remember that TJMM was Wednesday release ant ‘Bholaa’ is Thursday release so one extra day might give it space to recover.
