The motion picture industry saw an enormous weekend at the box office with Warner Bros/Mattel’s long-awaited toy feature adaptation Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s three-hour World War II-era drama Oppenheimer reaping a combined $280 million-plus global start.
Though Barbie will beat Oppenheimer at global box office with massive margin but in India Nolan brand is massive and cinephiles are rushing to watch Cilian Murphy starrer over weekend itself despite escalated ticket prices. India is only market where Barbie is behind Oppenheimer by big margin.
Barbie Had Decent Numbers In Limited Release At Indian Box Office
Barbie collected 4.50 cr net on day one followed by 6.50 cr net on day two with 45% jump. Film grew marginally and collected 6.75 cr net on Sunday. Film had 21.50 cr gross (17.75 cr net) total over weekend which was very good number despite clash and limited release in India.
As expected, film dropped big on Monday by 50% on expected lines and collected 2.25 cr net. Film continued to drop and collected 25.65 cr net (30.75 cr net) week one and should finish under 30 cr net lifetime.

Barbie Smashes At Worldwide Box Office Leaving Behind Oppenheimer
At US Box Office, a Nothing Plastic, just fantastic 155 Million 3-day opening weekend for Barbie beating The Super Mario Bros Movie as biggest 3-day weekend of 2023. Film gave Greta Gerwig the record of biggest ever for a film solely directed by a woman, over Wonder Woman’s 103.3 Million USD.
Barbie had a perfect 182 Million 5-day opening overseas over 69 markets, second biggest of 2023 beating The Super Mario Bros Movie’s 172.9 Million USD. With 155 Million USD at US Box Office, Margot Robbie had a 337 Million USS which is second biggest Global opening of 2023 at Box Office.

Film will cross massive $600 million by tomorrow and $700 million by 2nd Sunday. Film is certain to cross 1 Billion USD by 3rd week and that’s massive achievement as film has over performed in big way breaking every projection.
