Shah Rukh Khan’s much-awaited film Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is all set to release on 21st December 2023. The film has already created a lot of buzz among the fans and the trade with its intriguing trailer and catchy songs. Dunki is expected to be a huge hit not only at the domestic box office, but the film is also getting a great response from the overseas markets.
Dunki has so far collected $566K from the advance booking in the overseas territories till Tuesday afternoon. This is a very impressive figure considering that the film is releasing on a weekday.
Dunki Takes Fantastic Start In Overseas Market
The overseas advance bookings for Dunki started last week. Now six days to release, the film has raked in over USD 530K for the Thursday opening day, with the overall weekend going over USD 750K. At the same time prior to release, the presales are third best of the year for Bollywood behind other two SRK starrers Pathaan and Jawan. The ranking probably holds true historically as advance sales didn’t open this far out previously.
Dunki is eyeing a USD 3 million plus start on Thursday and it can probably go over USD 3 – 3.25 million. With good reviews, the four-day weekend can go over USD 15 – 17 million.
Day 1 Records Dunki Chasing In Overseas
Pathaan achieved a Day 1 collection of USD 4.5 million (Rs. 36.68 crore), Jawan had even more impressive opening of USD 4.6 million. Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3 saw an opening day of USD 5.05 (including previews) while Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal had USD 5.5 (including previews) on day one in overseas markets.
