Exclusive: S S Rajamouli’s Jr NTR Ram Charan Starrer RRR Crosses 9.78 Million USD In Japan, Heading For Unprecedented 100 Cr INR In Two More Weeks

RRR, released on March 24, is an action-drama film starring Ram Charan, N.T. Rama Rao, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris. It’s directed by SS Rajamouli and has been reportedly made with a budget of 550 crores. Its song ‘Naatu Naatu’ and VFX in it got prominence from moviegoers.

Interestingly, months ago, Ram and Jr NTR promoted their film in Japan. Weeks back, the filmmaker participated in the Governor’s Awards in Los Angeles. The latest news is that it will surpass JPY 1 billion in Japan, making it a historic milestone.

It crossed the record on the 122nd day of release, leading it to the first-ever Indian film to attain this much in the country. Earlier, Muthu became the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan for over two decades with JPY 400 million.

Film has now collected 9.78 million USD (80 cr INR) and it’s heading for 100 cr INR finish in couple of more weeks. Film saw surge in collections post its Oscar victory in Best Original Song category.
