The much-awaited action thriller Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, released on Diwali festival, 12th November. The film, directed by Maneesh Sharma, is the third installment of the popular Tiger franchise, which revolves around the adventures of a spy couple played by Salman and Katrina.
Tiger 3 is expected to be a big hit at the box office, as it promises to deliver high-octane action sequences, exotic locations, and a gripping plot. The film also features Emraan Hashmi as the main antagonist, who plays a ruthless terrorist leader.
Tiger 3 Had Good Weekend But Far Behind SRK starters Pathaan And Jawan
Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 released on Diwali and makers YRF is confident enough to pull of biggest hit. Film has taken a very good start at box office on day one though Diwali festivities did hit the film from 4-5 pm onwards. Also there was India’s World Cup match which affected the collections from evening onwards.
Still film surpassed almost all expectations and collected 44.50 cr nett (43 cr Hindi, 1.50 cr Dubbed). This was 3rd biggest opening for YRF’s Spy Universe behind Pathaan and War and highest ever opening day for Salman Khan. It’s also 3rd biggest opening of the year behind SRK’s Jawan and Pathaan.
Film needs massive Monday and Tuesday to justify its stardom and franchise value. Film collected 59.25 cr nett (58 cr Hindi) on day two which was good result. Film scores highest Monday ever and 3rd film to score century in two days. This was very good number but still behind record numbers of Shah Rukh Khan starrers Pathaan and Jawan.
Tuesday morning on day 3, Tiger 3 dropped big by 40% and struggling to cross day 1 number in national chains as per trends at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Film grew from evening onwards and collected 44.75 cr nett on day 4.
Film collected 148.50 cr nett over weekend in India which is 3rd best behind Jawan (286.16 cr) and Pathaan (280.75 cr) but slightly higher than Gadar 2(134.88 cr).
Tiger 3 Drops Big On Day 4 Due To Cricket Match, Fails To Recover On Day 5
On day 4, film was expected to drop due to big India World Cup Semi Final match and it dropped big! Film has dropped by 55% and even with growth in evening, it collected below par 21.25 cr nett. On day 5, film was expected to grow big but film dropped from day 4 and might struggle to cross 19 cr nett at best that too if it grows from evening onwards.
Film will cross 193 cr nett Hindi (198 cr nett all languages) in 5 days and next few days will determine its lifetime total. But 500 cr domestic nett is out of the window and now 400 cr nett is next minimum target. Anything below that will be massive setback to YRF’s Spy Universe and Salman Khan’s box office clout!
