Interstellar Re-release: Over 100K Tickets Already Sold For Christopher Nolan’s Film, Makers Announce Limited 1 Week Return Resulting In Bumper Response

Interstellar is making a grand return to Indian theatres on Feb 7 with over 100,000 tickets already sold for its one-week limited re-release.

Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi classic Interstellar is set to return to Indian theatres, and fans are already showing their excitement. The film will have a limited re-release starting February 7.

When Interstellar was first released in 2014, it didn’t make a huge impact at the Indian box office but received critical praise. Over time, it gained a dedicated fanbase and is now seen as one of the best films of its kind.

The re-release was originally planned for December 2024 but was delayed due to the release of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, which took over most screens, especially IMAX. Now, Interstellar is returning without competition and will be screened in both standard and IMAX formats.

Over 1 Lakh Tickets For Interstellar Sold In Pres-Sales With 10 Days For Re-release

Over 100,000 tickets have already been sold in advance across India. This figure, shared by Warner Bros India, excludes blocked seats and covers sales for the opening weekend.

The excitement for the re-release is clear from ticket sales. Over 33,000 tickets have already been sold for the opening day, and the number is expected to cross 50,000 before the release. Such enthusiasm for a re-release is rare and could help Interstellar break records in India.

Film To Have A Limited 1-Week Re-Run In Theatres

However, there’s a downside for fans. Warner Bros. has confirmed that the film will only be in theatres for seven days.

Despite this short run, the strong advance bookings hint at a big success at the box office. If the trend continues, Interstellar could become India’s highest-grossing re-release.

Globally, Interstellar remains one of Nolan’s most loved films. It earned $681 million during its original release and has since reached $743 million worldwide through re-releases.

This limited run offers fans a chance to relive the visually stunning and emotionally powerful journey of Interstellar on the big screen.
