Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has added another major milestone to its roaring theatrical run. After collecting Rs 10.50 crore on its third Saturday, the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has officially crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at the Indian box office today, strengthening its place among the biggest Tamil hits ever released.
The film had ended its third Saturday with a running Indian total of Rs 497 crore, and the latest push has now carried it beyond the landmark figure. That makes Jailer 2 only the second Tamil film to touch Rs 500 crore in India, while also bringing it within striking distance of the top domestic record for a Tamil title.
Jailer 2 Crosses Rs 500 Crore In India
The decisive jump came after a sharp 70 per cent rise on third Saturday, when the film minted Rs 10.50 crore. Its first week brought in Rs 375.50 crore, followed by Rs 104.75 crore in week two, before it maintained a strong hold into its third weekend.
Tamil Nadu alone has contributed Rs 192.25 crore so far, with the film now charging towards the Rs 200 crore milestone in its home market. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have delivered Rs 88.50 crore, Karnataka has added another Rs 88.50 crore, while Kerala stands at Rs 75.75 crore. The rest of India has contributed Rs 52 crore, underlining the breadth of the film’s run across key southern territories and beyond.
