Mere Husband Ki Biwi Box Office: Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Rakul Preet Singh’s Film Struggles, Fails To Hit Rs 5 Cr Mark In Opening Weekend

Arjun Kapoor’s Mere Husband Ki Biwi struggles at the box office, earning just Rs 4.45 crore in its opening weekend amid tough competition from Chhaava.

Arjun Kapoor’s Mere Husband Ki Biwi has had a slow start at the box office. The comedy (directed by Mudassar Aziz) also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. Despite its lighthearted theme, the film struggled to attract audiences in its opening weekend.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi Fails To Cross Rs 5 Cr Mark In First Weekend

Trade reports show that the film earned Rs 1.5 crore on Friday and Rs 1.7 crore on Saturday. However, Sunday’s earnings dropped to Rs 1.25 crore, bringing the total weekend collection to Rs 4.45 crore. With an occupancy rate of just 15.82%, the film has failed to generate strong momentum despite its star-studded cast.

The film faced stiff competition from Chhaava, which has dominated theatres. Starring Vicky Kaushal, Chhaava crossed Rs 40 crore by its second Sunday. In comparison, Mere Husband Ki Biwi has only managed Rs 4.45 crore in three days, making it a clear box office mismatch.

Day Collection (Rs.)
Day 1 [Friday] Rs. 1.5 Cr
Day 2 [Saturday] Rs. 1.7 Cr
Day 3 [Sunday] Rs. 1.25 Cr
Total Rs. 4.45 Cr Net

However, the film’s family-friendly appeal could still work in its favour. Aziz is known for simple comedies with subtle messages. While Mere Husband Ki Biwi hasn’t had a strong opening, its lighthearted nature might help it sustain a decent run in the coming days.

Arjun Kapoor’s Box Office Performance

For Arjun Kapoor, this film follows his well-received villainous role in Singham Again. However, as a solo male lead, Mere Husband Ki Biwi hasn’t been a major box office win. Still, it has performed slightly better than his last theatrical release Kuttey, which made Rs 3.42 crore in its opening weekend.

Compared to Ek Villain Returns (2022), which earned Rs 23.54 crore in its first weekend, this film’s numbers are significantly lower. Its comedy genre, combined with strong competition and limited buzz, may have contributed to its underwhelming start.

Will Mere Husband Ki Biwi Pick Up At The Box Office?

With Bollywood facing frequent box office clashes, it at least has the advantage of competing with another Hindi film rather than a South Indian blockbuster.

The coming days will be crucial in determining its fate. If word-of-mouth picks up, the film could see a stable weekday performance. Otherwise, it risks being overshadowed by bigger releases soon.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Pooja Entertainment, Mere Husband Ki Biwi also features Harsh Gujral, Dino Morea, Kanwaljit Singh, Mukesh Rishi, and Shakti Kapoor in key roles.
