Toxic Advance Booking Shows Weird Trend As Yash’s Film Drops From 2.45 Lakh On Wednesday To 13,000 On Thursday In National Chains

Yash’s Toxic has thrown up an unusual early booking pattern in national chains just a day before release. After day 1 Wednesday advances at around 2.45 lakh in national chains, the film’s Thursday national chain pre-sales were around just 13,000, creating a sharp and strange day-to-day contrast that immediately stands out for a big-ticket pan-India release.S

Section of social media crying foul play or corporate booking but there are not enough evidences for same though this trend is worrisome for such a big film.

Latest Advance Booking Update

The steep slide between Wednesday and Thursday has become the talking point around Toxic’s opening momentum. For a film carrying Yash’s post-KGF Chapter 2 box office weight, such a dramatic day-on-day dip in national chains looks far from routine. Advance booking trends usually build toward release or at least hold steady when a major star vehicle is this close to hitting theatres.

What makes this movement more striking is timing. Toxic is scheduled to release in theatres on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, which means these sales shifts are unfolding at the most crucial point of the film’s pre-release window. A sudden drop from 2 lakh to 13,000 in national chains suggests the booking pattern is not following the usual final-day acceleration expected from a high-profile title.

This is second best advance booking in the year 2026 behind only Dhurandhar The Revenge.

Why The Trend Stands Out

For a pan-India action drama led by Yash, national chains are closely watched because they often offer an early pulse check on urban audience response. When the first day throws up a healthy number and the very next day falls this sharply, it naturally raises eyebrows. The trend appears especially odd because Toxic has been mounted as one of Yash’s biggest follow-ups after the KGF phenomenon and has carried strong curiosity around its scale, packaging, and release strategy.

At this stage, the key watch will be whether spot bookings and same-day sales help the film recover momentum once shows begin. Yash’s star value has historically translated strongly into theatrical excitement, and that makes this uneven advance curve all the more notable.

Toxic Cast And Film Details

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is directed by Geetu Mohandas and backed by KVN Productions along with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The film stars Yash in the lead, with Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, and Huma Qureshi part of the ensemble. It has been positioned as a gangster drama with a large-scale, stylised theatrical treatment.

The film arrives after multiple release date changes and now heads into cinemas on August 26, 2026. That long lead-up has kept the spotlight firmly on every promotional and commercial movement around it.

Yash’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Yash was last seen on the big screen in KGF Chapter 2, which released in 2022 and emerged as a blockbuster across markets. The film cemented his standing as one of Indian cinema’s biggest theatrical stars and set an enormous benchmark for his next move.

With Toxic now ready for release, it marks Yash’s first theatrical outing since KGF Chapter 2. He is also attached to Ramayana: Part 1, where he is set to play Ravana in the Nitesh Tiwari directorial, one of the most closely watched big-screen projects lined up for later in 2026.
