Janhvi Kapoor’s Ulajh is struggling at the box office. Directed by National Award-winner Sudhanshu Saria, the spy thriller hasn’t lived up to expectations despite an impressive cast and initial buzz.
Ulajh features a strong ensemble including Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Tailang, and Meiyan Chang. However, the film’s performance has been disappointing.
The movie debuted on the same day as Ajay Devgn’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and had a weak start, earning just Rs 1.37 crore on its opening day. This marks one of Kapoor’s lowest openings, only slightly better than her previous film, Mili. The slow start was worsened by mixed reviews, which dampened audience interest.
Ulajh Does Better Than AMKDT On 2nd Sunday BUT It’s Still A Flop Show
During its opening weekend, Ulajh saw a small boost, earning over Rs 6.75 crore. However, the weekdays were bleak, adding only Rs 1.56 crore to the total. By the end of the first week, the film had earned Rs 8.31 crore in India.
The second week has been tough as well. On its eighth day, Ulajh made just Rs 0.35 crore, even with a special Rs 99 Cinema Lovers Day ticket offer. The film saw a slight increase on the second Saturday with Rs 0.55 crore and did better on the second Sunday, earning Rs 0.62 crore, surpassing its competitor Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. The ten-day total now stands at Rs 9.83 crore nett.
Despite this small improvement, the film’s overall performance remains disappointing. With earnings still far below its budget, Ulajh is set to be a major flop. It’s unlikely to reach the Rs 12 crore mark before new releases come out on Independence Day.

What Went Wrong With The Film?
Ulajh has had a tough time at the box office, with surprisingly low earnings. The film faced strong competition from major releases like Deadpool & Wolverine and Kalki 2898 AD, which pulled viewers away.
The movie also suffered from mixed reviews and a lacklustre marketing campaign. Despite being a spy thriller with a star-studded cast, it hasn’t been able to draw in large audiences.
