Emergency Trailer Set For Release On August 14
The makers have now confirmed this plan, adding to the film’s buzz. Kangana Ranaut took to social media to share the news, saying, “Witness the Darkest Times of Democratic Indian History & the Lust For Power that almost burned down the Nation! #KanganaRanaut’s #EmergencyTrailer out on 14th August.”
About The Film
Emergency is set to hit cinemas worldwide on September 6, 2024. The film explores the Emergency period of 1975-1977 in India, a controversial era when civil liberties were suspended and political dissent was silenced under then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Kangana not only stars as Gandhi but also directs and produces the film, taking on the daunting task of portraying such a pivotal historical figure.
The trailer, which runs for 2 minutes and 57 seconds, has been granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to sources, the trailer will be attached to prints of Vedaa, another Zee Studios production. This strategic release is aimed at leveraging the audience base of Vedaa to boost visibility and anticipation for Emergency.
The film features a stellar cast. Alongside Kangana, Anupam Kher plays Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade portrays Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhary stars as Pupul Jayakar, Milind Soman appears as Sam Manekshaw and the late Satish Kaushik is seen as Jagjivan Ram.
