Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava Eyes 2025’s Biggest Hindi Opening So Far, Advance Booking Crosses 1.25 Lakh Tickets In National Chains

Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava is already making headlines before its release. The film’s advance booking numbers are soaring and it is expected to be the biggest Hindi opener of 2025 so far. 

With strong bookings in Maharashtra and growing excitement nationwide, the film is set for a massive start at the box office.

Advance Booking Of Chhaava

Produced by Maddock Films, Chhaava sold over 1.16 lakh tickets in major national chains today. Here’s the breakdown as of Wednesday, February 12, 2025: (As of 12 pm today)

  • PVR Inox: 88,000 tickets
  • Cinepolis: 28,000 tickets
  • Total: 1,16,000 tickets

The response has been overwhelming, even surpassing the pre-sales of Gully Boy, which held the record for the biggest Valentine’s Day opening in Bollywood. With two days to go, the ticket sales are expected to rise even further. It has now surpassed 1.25 lakh ticket sales in the top three national chains.

Despite the strong pre-sales, the real test begins on release day. Trade experts predict an opening of around Rs 20 crore, which could make it Vicky Kaushal’s biggest career opener. However, factors like word-of-mouth and audience reactions will determine its long-term success.

About The Film

Chhaava is a historical drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the fearless Maratha warrior who stood against the Mughal Empire.

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, alongside Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai and Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

Inspired by Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel Chhava, the film promises a gripping tale of bravery, war, and sacrifice. With a runtime of 161 minutes and 50 seconds, it aims to deliver an immersive cinematic experience.

Chhaava is set to hit cinemas on February 14, 2025.
