First released in 1994, Andaz Apna Apna wasn’t a box office hit. But over time, it gained a huge fanbase and became one of Bollywood’s most iconic comedies.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Vinay Kumar Sinha, the film is packed with hilarious performances, quirky dialogues, and slapstick humour that still holds up today.
Now, this film is all set to make a grand return in theatres after 31 years.
Andaz Apna Apna Set To Re-Release In April
Sources from the industry reveal that Aamir Khan and Salman Khan’s cult-classic comedy is set for a theatrical re-release in April 2025. While the exact date has not been revealed yet, fans won’t have to wait long for a glimpse as the teaser drops tomorrow.
Aamir Khan and Salman Khan’s comedic timing as Amar and Prem from the film is unforgettable. It also starred Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal (in a dual role), and Shakti Kapoor as the legendary Crime Master Gogo.
Lines like “Galti se mishtake ho gaya” and “Crime Master Gogo naam hai mera, aankhen nikal ke gotiyan khelti hoon main” are still quoted by fans.
Rajkumar Santoshi Is Working On Another Film Similar To This Aamir-Salman Starrer
Recently, director Rajkumar Santoshi hinted at another comedy similar to Andaz Apna Apna. In an interview with Doordarshan, he shared, “I am writing a comedy in Andaz Apna Apna’s style. This is the kind of experiment that you have to do, you don’t always know how it will turn out but I can assure that it will be entertaining.”
He also revealed that the working title of the film is Adaa Apni Apni. When asked if it would be a sequel, he replied, “Too early to say. Let’s see.”
Well, the excitement for Andaz Apna Apna’s return is high. Over the years, its witty one-liners and laugh-out-loud moments have made its place in pop culture. This re-release will introduce the film to a new generation of viewers who have only watched it on TV or streaming platforms.
