Last Friday, two big Bollywood movies are dropping at the theatres, Alia Bhatt’s Jigra and Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
While Jigra is targeting urban multiplex-goers with its upscale theme and gripping action, VVKWWV is aiming for a broader appeal with its comedy, targeting smaller towns and cities.
At premium multiplexes in major cities, Jigra is expected to lead the charge due to Alia Bhatt’s star power. On the other hand, VVKWWV is likely to perform better in single-screen theatres and smaller towns, where its light-hearted content will attract more viewers.
Rajkummar Rao And Triptii Dimri Starrer Jumps On Day Two
Despite negative reviews,Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, the Dussehra release of the year, has been doing decent business at the box office. While the film, starring stars Rajkummar Rao, Tripti Dimri, Mallika Sherawat, Vijay Raaz, Tiku Talsania, and Archana Puran Singh in key roles, made a collection of Rs 5.71 crore on Day 1 of release, Day 2 was a little better.
Film collected 7.06 crore net on day two with decent growth. Film dropped on day 3 Sunday and collected 6.40 crore net. Film has 3 – day total of 19.17 crore net and its poor weekend total. Now film needs solid hold on Monday for some sort of decent run.
