Vikram Bhatt‘s Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past has finally completed its theatrical run in India, and its box office story ended much the way its run unfolded, with an eye-catching start followed by a rapid slowdown. The horror title closed at Rs 15.15 crore nett in India after briefly surprising the trade in its opening week.
That first-week performance had given the film a real shot at sustaining momentum. Mounted as a follow-up to Bhatt’s 2011 horror hit Haunted 3D, the new film managed to draw initial audience attention despite modest production values and strong competition around it. But once the opening rush faded, the film’s hold weakened dramatically.
Final Box Office Run In India
Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past opened at Rs 2.35 crore and went on to collect over Rs 13.50 crore nett in its first week. That number stood out because it put the film ahead of several rival releases in the same phase and positioned it as an early overperformer in the horror space.
The second week, however, changed the trajectory entirely. The film dropped 90 per cent and collected just Rs 1.40 crore in week two. From there, it added around Rs 25 lakh more before ending its theatrical journey, taking the final India nett total to Rs 15.15 crore.
The outcome leaves the film short of a successful verdict, but its opening still says something important about the current market. Horror remains a genre with clear audience pull in India, especially when a familiar brand returns to cinemas. In this case, the curiosity was strong enough to fuel a surprise first week, even if the content could not support a longer run.
About Haunted 3D Echoes Of The Past
Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past is a 2026 Hindi-language supernatural horror film written by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Vikram Bhatt and Manish P. Chavan. The cast includes Mahaakshay Chakraborty, Chetna Pande, Gaurav Bajpai, Hemant Pandey, Shruti Prakash and Praneet Bhatt. The film was produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and released in theatres on June 12, 2026.
The film serves as a spiritual sequel to Haunted 3D, which released in 2011 and emerged as a box office hit. This new chapter follows another haunted, trauma-laced supernatural setup, leaning into the eerie mood and suspense-driven template that has long defined Bhatt’s horror cinema. While the original had converted audience interest into a successful run, Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past finished as a flop despite its strong initial week.
