The Buckingham Murders Netflix Release: Hansal Mehta APOLOGISES To X User Calling Hindi Version ‘Bad’, Says ‘Can Be Irritating To Watch’

The Buckingham Murders directed by Hansal Mehta faced criticism over its Hindi dubbing on Netflix. This an apology from the director.

Hansal Mehta’s latest thriller, The Buckingham Murders, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, hit Netflix on 8 November 2024. But the release faced immediate backlash over its Hindi dubbing quality. Many viewers expressed disappointment online, prompting Mehta to address the issue on social media.

Hansal Mehta Apologises To Fan Calling Hindi Version Bad

A user on X (formerly Twitter) complained about the poor dubbing, saying: “I started watching #TheBuckinghamMurders but the Hindi dubbing is so bad. I couldn’t go beyond a few minutes. Dear @mehtahansal, was the movie shot in English? Why isn’t @NetflixIndia showing us the original version? Watching all the Brits speak in Hindi makes it sound so artificial.”

Responding quickly, Mehta admitted there was a glitch, which resulted in Netflix only releasing the Hindi-dubbed version initially. He assured fans that the original Hinglish version would be available shortly.

In his post, he said, “Due to a technical error on the service @NetflixIndia will be uploading the original language version in a few hours. Thank you for your patience. And yes, it can be quite irritating to watch a dubbed version of the film. Apologies.” His prompt response was appreciated by fans.

Other users raised similar concerns, with one asking why the Hinglish version wasn’t available. Another frustrated fan noted the limited audio options, saying they were eager to watch but only found Hindi, Portuguese, and Spanish options.

Kareena Kapoor Starrer Was Originally Shot In Hinglish Version

The film was initially shot with a mix of English and Hindi dialogues to reflect its setting and characters’ cultural background. About 80% of the film was in English, with 20% in Hindi.

However, Netflix first uploaded only the fully dubbed Hindi version, leading to criticism. Mehta assured viewers that the original language version would soon be accessible.
