Weekend watchlist: Check out these new OTT releases to binge this weekend!

Many new movies have decided to wait and release in theatres as many have begun to allow patrons, albeit in small numbers, according to news from the cinema sector around the country. The festival season also peaks next week.

In light of this, the new releases on Indian OTT platforms this week seem a little underwhelming. That isn’t to suggest they aren’t intriguing. The Amitabh Bachchan starrer Chehre, the intriguing online series Clutch about esports, the following is a list of titles that will be available on leading OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Hotstar, and others.

Shiddat:

Radhika Madan, Sunny Kaushal, Diana Penty, and Mohit Raina play pivotal parts in the love drama. The film released on Disney Hotstar on October 1st. Shiddat: Journey Beyond Love is a romantic drama film directed by Kunal Deshmukh and produced by T-Series and Maddock Films.

Clutch:

Clutch is a film set in the world of gaming that portrays the essence of dedicated gamers and the ups and downs they encounter in their quest to compete in eSports events. It’s the story of a man who quit professional gaming to pursue a more secure job path, but then returns to his first love, gaming, by forming a team to play in a big eSports tournament and leading them to tremendous success. In that way, it’s a classic sports comeback story. The backdrop, on the other hand, is intriguing and one-of-a-kind.

Clutch premieres on October 1st, with new episodes released every week on Dice Media’s Youtube and Facebook pages.

Chehre:

The film is a suspense thriller about four elderly men who live in an ancient house in the middle of nowhere with a strong guy who can’t communicate and a housekeeper who tends after their needs. They’re all experts in different areas of the legal system. They have a mission: to punish ‘criminals’ through trial since they feel the court system has liberated these ‘guests.’

The movie features megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi pitted against each other for the first time. The film also stars Annu Kapoor, Krystle D’Souza, Drithiman Chakroborthy, Raghubir Yadav, and Siddhanth Kapoor.

Aamis:

It’s a story about obsessive love and the chaos and complexities that ensue. A woman paediatrician is imprisoned in a loveless marriage and the humdrum responsibilities of domesticity. With the arrival of a young student investigating dietary habits and the use of various types of meats in the cuisine of the Northeastern portion of the country, her bleak existence begins to change. However, the story twist occurs when this flesh fetish crosses a line.

Break Point:

For decades, Indians have both applauded and speculated about the country’s biggest tennis heroes, who have made India proud by winning many famous matches. For the first time, the rumours will be put to rest when Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi open out about their bromance and breakup, telling the world what happened, how it happened, and why it occurred. The seven-episode series Break Point will not only build their epic tennis battles, but will also demolish their relationship both on and off the court.
