The release date for Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise, which was originally set for December 25, has been rescheduled. Pushpa’s producers turned to social media to announce that the film will now be released in theatres on December 17, a week earlier than planned. This was done to avoid a box-office clash with Ranveer Singh’s 83, which is set to hit theatres this Christmas.
Sukumar’s Pushpa, starring Allu Arjun, will be made into two parts. The first instalment, named Pushpa: The Rise, was originally set to premiere on Christmas Day 2021. However, the producers have set a new release date and have opted to release the film earlier than expected.
The makers of Pushpa took to social media on October 2 to announce that Pushpa: The Rise will hit theatres on December 17, one week before Christmas. The team wrote on the poster that they shared, “This December, Theatres will go Wild with the arrival of #PushpaRaj. #PushpaTheRise will hit the Big Screens on DEC 17th. #PushpaTheRiseOnDec17 #ThaggedheLe (sic).”

The producers of Ranveer Singh’s 83 just revealed that the film will be released in theatres on Christmas Day. To prevent a box office clash, the Pushpa crew chose to release the film a week sooner.
Allu Arjun’s Pushpa and Ranveer Singh’s 83, both are pan-India films that will be released in numerous languages. Pushpa is based on true events and will chronicle the narrative of red sandalwood smugglers in the Rayalseema district of Andhra Pradesh’s Seashachalam hills.
The biopic 83, directed by Kabir Khan, is based on the 1983 World Cup-winning Indian cricket squad. Ranveer Singh, Jiiva, Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, and others play pivotal roles in the film.
