After impressing audiences with his role in Tiger 3 (2023), Emraan Hashmi is set to take on a new challenge in Ground Zero, a military thriller produced by Farhan Akhtar‘s Excel Entertainment.
Announced in March last year, Ground Zero features Hashmi as an Indian army officer for the first time. Fans are excited to see him in this new avatar, as it promises to be a career-defining role for the actor.
Ground Zero Set To Release In April
BOW has exclusively learnt that the film is ready to roll on and is scheduled for release on April 25. It will showcase Hashmi in a completely different role. An official announcement of the date is expected in the coming days.
Directed by Tejas Prabhas and Vijay Deoskar, the film follows BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, played by Hashmi. The story has been set during high-risk military operations. It shows Hashmi in a role that demands deep emotional strength and resilience.
Ground Zero also boasts a strong cast, including Zoya Hussain, Sai Tamhankar, Mukesh Tiwari, Rockey Raina, Deepak Paramesh, and Lalit Prabhakar. The film, written by Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshee Srivastava, promises action-packed scenes and powerful performances.
His Work Front
In addition to Ground Zero, Hashmi has other exciting projects in the works.
He last appeared in Ae Watan Mere Watan alongside Sara Ali Khan, where he played the role of Ram Manohar Lohia. He was also seen in a web series Showtime.
Now, the actor is awaiting his Telugu debut with the film OG starring Pawan Kalyan. It was expected to be released last year, but due to production delays, OG will now be released in 2025 (rather than the previously announced date of September 27, 2024).
Hashmi will also star in another South film Goodachari 2.
