Bombay High Court is set to hear a new petition on February 19, which demands a deeper investigation into the deaths of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager Disha Salian.
The petition was filed by the ‘Supreme Court & High Court Litigants Association of India led by Rashid Khan Pathan. It urges the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to arrest and interrogate Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray in connection with the case. The plea also asks the court to direct the CBI to submit a detailed report.
Aditya Thackeray Challenges The Plea
The petition has stirred fresh controversy. Aditya Thackeray has filed an intervention request, arguing that he should be heard before any decision is made. He claims the petition is not valid since state authorities are already handling the case. The court will now decide if the plea holds ground and whether further action is needed.
About Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment on 14 June 2020. The Mumbai Police initially treated it as an Accidental Death Report (ADR).
However, after Rajput’s father lodged a complaint in Bihar and alleged that the actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty & her family played a role in his death, the case was handed over to the CBI.
Even after years of investigation, the CBI has yet to reach a final conclusion. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been investigating financial dealings linked to Rhea and her family, while the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has been probing drug-related allegations.
Disha Salian’s death remains another unsolved mystery.
