In a recent award function Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor was all sent to perform, however he allegedly backed out after realizing he didn’t win the ‘Best Actor Award’. According to the reports, the Kabir Singh actor lost the award to Ranveer Singh.
Sources form the event reveals that the actor was unhappy with the fact that he lost the award in the best actor category. Following this he back out of from the performances for which he already committed.
A daily quoted the source, “Shahid was expecting an award for ‘Kabir Singh’ but backed out of performing when he realised he’s losing it to Ranveer for ‘Gully Boy’. Shahid was not too happy with the news that he’s losing out on a major award.”
As per the sources, the actor lost his cool on the organizers because it was an unethical move on their part to sneakily change the whole scenario. The source adds, “He was reportedly very upset with how the whole thing was addressed. The award was then presented to Ranveer Singh and Shahid then supposedly walked out of the show. He was to perform but he decided not to record his performance as well.”
Meanwhile, in the mid of all the chaos, the makers went to Varun Dhawan and requested him to take Shahid’s place on stage.
However, a source close to Shahid denied the news. The source also stated that “ Shahid is a thorough professional and a man of his words. Therefore, even though the doctor had advised him bed rest, he tried to fulfil his commitments for a recent award ceremony to the best ability. Although, he again fell severely ill, Shahid didn’t want anyone to suffer any kind of loss.”
The award function will soon be telecast on television.
